Artist Biography: John Joseph Hughes 1820-1909 was a British 19th Century painter whose work included depictions of rural occupations, parks, costal scenes, churches, village and town scenes, and still life. He painted many works in Wales and the Lake District, and exhibited at the Royal Academy, British Institution, Suffolk Street, and around 360 works at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists
